ReSoil® laboratory

The ReSoil® Laboratory at Envit provides controlled laboratory testing to determine heavy metal concentrations and assess removal efficiency. It supports early-stage evaluation of the ReSoil® technology using small, representative soil samples.

Soil samples of approximately 500 g can be easily sent by post, enabling a fast and practical initial assessment before on-site testing.

Key specifications:

Capacity: 50 g per batch

Purpose:

  • Laboratory evaluation of heavy metal removal efficiency for soil samples (0.5 kg) submitted to Envit Ltd.

ReSoil® mobile pilot plant

The ReSoil® mobile plant is a pilot-scale system designed for research, development, and hands-on training in ReSoil® technology. With a capacity of 50 kg of soil per batch, it enables systematic testing and optimization of processes for the removal of heavy metals and organic pollutants, as well as soil remediation and improvement. The plant is housed in two mobile shipping containers, allowing flexible deployment while realistically simulating the full ReSoil® operational process. It serves as a platform for scientific collaboration, technology development, and the training of ReSoil® operators under controlled yet practical conditions.

Key specifications:

Capacity: 50 kg of soil per batch

Purpose:

  • R&D in the removal of heavy metals and organic pollutants, soil remediation, and soil quality improvement
  • Teaching and training in ReSoil® technology

ReSoil® trailer

The ReSoil® trailer - a mobile pilot unit is a compact system mounted on a car trailer, enabling easy transport and rapid deployment at different locations. It is designed for technology demonstration and feasibility testing, allowing verification of performance under real-world conditions.

Key specifications:

Capacity: 5 kg of soil per batch

Purpose: on-site technology presentation and feasibility testing

The main advantage of the unit is its mobility, which allows the process to be demonstrated directly to end users and stakeholders. The unit was developed in close collaboration with professional electricians, metalworkers, and mechanical engineers, ensuring high technical quality, reliability, and operational safety.

To support early-stage technology evaluation, we offer a simple and practical model that includes:

  • laboratory testing on small soil samples (~0.5 kg) to assess the removal efficiency of metals and metalloids;
  • and on-site feasibility demonstrations using the mobile unit (5 kg per batch, up to ~50 kg per day), enabling testing under real conditions and direct stakeholder engagement.

Stationary ReSoil® plant

The stationary ReSoil® plant is a full-scale demonstration and reference facility established to validate the scalability and technical feasibility of the ReSoil® soil-washing technology. The plant was developed within the EU LIFE+ Programme and represents an important milestone in the transition from pilot to large-scale application. Located in the historically contaminated Meža Valley (Prevalje, Slovenia), the facility was designed to reflect real remediation conditions. With a treatment capacity of 6 tonnes of soil per day (1,500 kg per batch), it enabled demonstrational remediation activities and serves as a reference installation for presenting ReSoil® technology to stakeholders, regulators, and potential end users. The achieved Technology Readiness Level (TRL 7) confirms that the ReSoil® technology has been successfully demonstrated in an operational environment, in line with EU and NASA methodology.

The plant was based on standard, robust process equipment such as sieves, mixing vessels, and filter presses. The remediation process can be operated manually, while the core innovative components - press-based soil rinsing, EDTA recycling, and process water reuse—are designed for automated control via a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system. In this stationary pant the ReSoil® technology was based on closed process cycles, ensuring zero emissions and preservation of soil quality and properties as a growth substrate.

Key specifications:

Capacity: 6 t/day (1,500 kg per batch)

Purpose:

  • Demonstration and validation of large-scale soil remediation
  • Proof of scalability and operational readiness of ReSoil® technology
  • Reference facility for stakeholders and regulatory authorities
